SoftBank Telecom provides voice services (domestic and international) centering on OTOKU Line, a secured and highly reliable direct connection voice service, and various products offered by SoftBank Mobile to cater the needs of corporate customers, including mobile phone service, iPhone and iPad, smartphone featuring useful functions for business, and mobile devices for high-speed data communications. Also offered are a service that helps corporate customers optimize overall IT system by combining OTOKU Line and data network services with mobile phone service, and various mobile solutions that allow centralized management of mobile devices, security management and operational efficiency improvement.
Cloud computing service
SoftBank Telecom provides White Cloud, a cloud computing service for corporate customers which aims to realize business operation environment by combining necessary ICT services through network to meet customers’ needs at reasonable prices. Recent years have seen a rapid increase of companies building an environment for employees to work anytime from anywhere to keep up with accelerating speed in business world. In the circumstances, SoftBank Telecom promotes the combined use of White Cloud and mobile devices to bring about an innovative work style “White Work Style” enabling users to work beyond the restriction of time and place. White Work Style also helps corporate customers speed up decision making, invigorate business operations by offering flexible work style and improve operational efficiency.
SoftBank Telecom also offers breakthrough cloud services through strong partnership with world-class companies. Google Apps™ for Business, a cloud-based communication tool, is made available in White Cloud in partnership with Google Inc. The tool can support mail, video, access logs and other business data with ever increasing log data and rich content. Also as the first authorized provider of VMware vCloud® Datacenter Services in Japan, SoftBank Telecom in partnership with VMware, Inc. provides cloud platform service that allows corporate customers to adapt to dynamic changes in business in flexible and prompt manner.
Network service, etc.
SoftBank Telecom as a telecom operator works to enhance and expand ICT infrastructure including highly reliable network service (ULTINA) and data centers for corporate customers in and outside Japan. In its data center business in particular, SoftBank Telecom provides HiA VMware vCloudR Datacenter Service Powered by Softbank Telecom, a cloud platform service. The service which is made available in partnership with GDS Service Ltd. is provided in China where Japanese companies are making inroad in a large number, so that Japanese companies in China can enjoy the cloud platform service equivalent to the one in Japan. Moreover, SoftBank Telecom has built Busan Data Center in suburban Busan through a joint venture with KT Corporation, the largest telecom operator in Korea, to keep up with rapidly increasing demand for data center after the Great East Japan Earthquake as well as to prepare for emergency resulting from electric power supply situation Japan. The Busan Data Center is connected to Japan by large capacity international dedicated lines for high speed communications to secure redundancy, thus can serve as a back-up in the event of an extensive disaster in Japan and support business continuity plans of Japanese companies.
