[SOFTBANK IDC Corp.] SOFTBANK IDC to support new entry into the online gaming business offering a data center support program to contribute to the development of the gaming industry

Feb. 8, 2006

SOFTBANK IDC Corp. (Head Office: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo; President & CEO: Yutaka Shinto; hereinafter, "the Company") will launch a program to support new entry into the online gaming business. The program provides environmental support by offering the use of the Company’s data center which can reduce load as well as risk during the early stages following the release of a game title.

In the rapid-growing online gaming market, high-speed distribution of large-volume content and stable server operations are important factors in the success of a game title. For some time now, the Company has been forming strong partnerships with a number of online gaming businesses, exchanging opinions and gaining experience in building data centers specifically tailored for online gaming, while at the same time accumulating operational knowledge for these data centers.

The program to be launched will build on existing experiences and knowledge to support new entry into the online gaming business. There will be a preliminary examination process by the Company prior to delivering the services of the program. Businesses that have passed the examination will have access to centrally-managed services, including implementation consulting on optimum server installation, network design and other issues, equipment procurement, and maintenance/operation/monitoring services.

By leveraging our support program, businesses aiming to make a new entry into the online gaming industry can concentrate their efforts on the planning and production for the release of a new game title. At the same time, one-stop procurement of a high-quality server environment also enables TCO reduction.

The Company is committed to playing an effective supportive role in the development of the online gaming industry through its data center business.
