SoftBank Corp. Develops “Remote Autonomous Driving Support System” on AITRAS Edge AI Server

SoftBank Corp. announced it developed a “remote autonomous driving support system” to facilitate the social implementation of Level 4 (highly automated driving)*1 autonomous driving, operating on the edge AI server of “AITRAS”*2, a converged solution of AI-RAN. The system works in conjunction with autonomous vehicles to ensure safe autonomous driving through remote support in cases where there is a malfunction in the vehicle’s sensors or systems, or when an unexpected situation causes unintended vehicle behavior.

*1 Level 4 refers to a state in which the system performs all driving tasks under specific conditions.
