Nobunosuke Itakura

• Profile
  Since joining SoftBank in 2021, I have worked in network strategy, leading throughput enhancement initiatives, contributing to standardization activities within 3GPP, and supporting 5G upgrades of existing spectrum. In 2024, I transitioned to radio equipment development, focusing on new feature evaluation and contributing to international collaboration through JAPAN OTIC under the ORAN ALLIANCE. As of 2025, I am engaged in the development of the Large Telecom Model (LTM).

• Research areas and achievements as a student
  With a background in biology, I specialized in conservation ecology in graduate school. My research focused on frog chorus responses and strawberry shape classification. I conducted field surveys and audio analysis (of frogs), as well as applied machine learning. I developed classification algorithms using decision trees and GANs.
