Rie Maruno

• Profile
  After graduating from the Faculty of Law at Hitotsubashi University, I began my career at SoftBank in 2006. Initially working in project management for mobile phone development, I later transitioned to the advertising department, where I engaged in planning and producing TV commercials, as well as devising PR strategies. In 2019, I moved to the Advanced Technology Division, which later evolved into our current Research Institute of Advanced Technology, focusing on international business development for HAPS, and involvement in fundraising and M&A activities.
  In 2023, I established and have been leading the PR section of the Research Institute.
• Daily Work
  I am responsible for a broad range of PR activities for our Research Institute. These include managing this official website and planning and executing events that showcase our technological initiatives.
  Though our Research Institute is relatively small in comparison to the vast scale of SoftBank, we are committed to making it a 'small but mighty' presence.
  With this goal in mind, I am tirelessly working to elevate our Research Institute to a renowned status both in Japan and globally.
• Daily Life
  I utilize remote work to adopt a flexible working style, accommodating the busy schedule of my 11-year-old son's extracurricular activities and lessons. Also, influenced by my husband, an enthusiast of sauna experiences, my recent holidays have been mostly spent on family trips to hot springs and saunas. Our next goal is to experience a winter sauna in Finland, where we plan to take a family dive into the snow or a lake right after the sauna!
