【White Paper Release】Enabling Data Sovereignty：Requirements for User-Controlled Data Management and the Applicability of NDN

SoftBank Research Institute of Advanced Technology is working with the UCLA Internet Research Laboratory (IRL) to explore the future of personal data management.

As the information society evolves, the value of data generated by individuals continues to grow.
Such data belongs to the person who creates it, and its management and use should be entrusted to the data owner.

This white paper outlines the current challenges in personal data handling, defines the requirements for realizing a world in which individuals have full control on their data under their own sovereignty, and introduces the NDN-based storage system being studied by IRL.
It also highlights the technical challenges that must be addressed going forward.
