SoftBank Corp. and AMD to Jointly Validate Utilization of AMD Instinct™ GPU for Next Generation AI Infrastructure

SoftBank Corp., together with Advanced Micro Devices, Inc., commenced the joint validation of utilizing AMD Instinct^TM GPUs in advancing next generation AI infrastructure computing resources.

The verification is advancing the development of functionality to partition and properly allocate GPU resources according to requirements, such as AI application model size and the number of concurrent executions, through the enhancement of a mechanism being developed by SoftBank for managing computing resources as well as optimally allocating AI applications (“Orchestrator”). This enables multiple AI applications to function effectively on AMD Instinct^TM GPUs in response to the user requests.
