Notification of the billing cycle change
(from 20th to End of month)
SoftBank is going to consolidate current billing cycles into one cycle which will close at the end of each month, making it easier for customers to manage and understand.
No additional paperwork is required from you. This change, when made, will be implemented internally.
Your current monthly payment due date will also change, however, the payment method you have already established will remain unchanged.
Applicable customers
Applicable customers affected by the billing cycle change will receive a postcard showing "[Important] The billing cycle date of your monthly service fees will change" as the subject.

- The invoice delivery date will be changed to around the 16th of every month.

- Paying by auto bank transfer: the bank transfer will be made on the payment date. If the payment date is a holiday for financial institutions, the payment date will be the next business day. (if you pay by invoice, the payment date will also be the next business day).
- Paying by credit card: the debit date will be the date specified by the credit card company. Depending on the credit card you use, the debit date for your card may change, or the debit dates for before and after the change may be overlapped.
- Paying by debit card: the payment may be debited from your account before the billing information is disclosed.

In the month of the change, the billing amount will be temporarily higher than the usual billing amount.

After the cycle change, the monthly charges for payment of two months service will be temporarily combined and billed for some services such as SoftBank Hikari, SoftBank Air, electricity/gas services.

The PayPay points allocation period for the "Paytoku" plan is from September 21st to September 30th and from October 1st to October 31st, for a maximum of two months.

Pro-rated billing of service fees and optional fees
When the billing cycle changes, service fees and optional fees shown below will be pro-rated according to the actual usage period.
Provisional data amount addition for flat-rate data service in the month of billing cycle change
For flat-rate data services, the amount of data will automatically increase depending on the actual usage period of billing cycle change month.
You can check the actual amount of increased data on My SoftBank.
How to check your data amount
Press the データ量 "Data amount" from My SoftBank top page menu, then press データ使用量の管理 "Data usage amount management" to see the additional data amount for the month.
Discount for services that cannot apply pro-rated discount amount
For services such as "Home Discount" that cannot apply pro-rated discount amount, extra discounts only for the month will be applied according to the actual period of use.

Fixed Amount Service Suspension Option
Due to a change in the billing cycle, the billing amount for October 2025 usage will be temporarily higher.
Accordingly, the set amount for the Fixed Amount Service Suspension Option will be adjusted to align with the extended billing period.
You can check the updated amount and modify the set amount if needed via My SoftBank starting from September 21.
Beginning with November 2025 usage, the billing amount will return to the originally set amount.
In addition, starting with November 2025 usage, the reset date for the set amount of the Fixed Amount Service Suspension Option will be changed to the 1st of each month.
Notes on “SoftBank Combined Payment”
When using ”SoftBank Combined Payment”, an usage limit per each billing month is set for each service line account.
When the billing cycle changes, while the usage period will be longer as shown in the chart below, the usage limit will be raised during that period so that you will be able to use up to 100,000 yen in each month of September and October. The usage limit for the period from September 21st to the last day of the month will be increased on October 10th. (※1)
The actual bill will be made as a combined bill for the October billing month.
- *1If you have manually set a monthly usage limit, the increased usage limit may not be automatically applied during the transition month. If you intend to use the increased amount, please double-check the latest usage limit status on My SoftBank on or after October 10.

Why is my monthly billing cycle changing?
SoftBank is making various improvements to provide better services to our customers.
Until now, many customers have complained that it is difficult to understand why the billing close date is in the middle of the month.
To improve this problem, we will consolidate the billing closing date to the end of the month, and set the monthly payment due date to the 26th, so the billing cycle is easier to understand. -
When will be my monthly payment due after the billing cycle change?
For customers whose payment due date was previously the 6th or 16th of each month, the new payment due date will be the 26th of each month.

The change will take effect starting with the July 2025 bill (for usage from June 21 to July 31).
The first payment date after the change will be Tuesday, August 26, 2025.
- June usage: Payment on July 16
- July usage: Payment on August 26

The change will take effect starting with the October 2025 bill (for usage from September 21 to October 31).

There is no need for the customer to take any action.

Is there any way to keep the current payment date as it is?
At SoftBank, we are continuously working to improve our services in order to better serve our customers.
As part of these efforts, and in response to feedback from many customers, we will be standardizing the billing cycle to close at the end of each month and setting the payment due date to the 26th of every month.
We sincerely apologize for not being able to accommodate individual preferences, and we kindly ask for your understanding. -
How much will the actual payment amount be in the month of the change?
<For customers who received the notification in April 2025>
As only the usage of July 2025 will be charged for 41 days, the charge will be approximately 1.3 times as much.

As only the usage of October 2025 will be charged for 41 days, the charge will be approximately 1.3 times as much.

How much will the amount of data allowance be in the month of the billing cycle change?
In the month of the billing cycle change, the usage period will be longer, so the amount of the monthly data allowance will also tentatively increase.

What are the discounts for low data usage (such as discounts for usage of 3GB or less)?
In the month of the billing cycle change, both the data usage amount for applying the discount and the actual discount amount will be increased on a prorated basis.
Example.
Usual month: 1,500 yen (excluding tax) discount for 3GB or less usage
Month of change: 2,468 yen (excluding tax) discount for 4.94GB or less usage※Notes※
Actual discount increases will be applied at the time of bill finalization.

I currently receive a combined bill that includes internet service charges for SoftBank Hikari and SoftBank Air. How will this change?

For the transition month only, internet service charges for two months (usage for June and July 2025) will be billed together as part of the July 2025 bill.

For the transition month only, internet service charges for two months (usage for September and October 2025) will be billed together as part of the October 2025 bill. -
My fees for SoftBank Denki: Electricity, and/or SoftBank Gas are currently billed together, how will this change?
The billing for SoftBank Denki: Electricity, and/or SoftBank Gas charges will continue to be billed monthly with no change.

What will be the usage limit of the "SoftBank Combined Payment"?

You can use SoftBank Combined Payment up to 100,000 yen both for June 21st to 30th, and July 1st to 31st, 2025.
The usage for the above will be combined and billed for the month of July.
