Before traveling

1. STEP 01

   Check that “Global Roaming
   Service” (free) is enabled

   Check that “Global Roaming Service” is enabled in the “Optional Services” section of My SoftBank.

   • If “Global Roaming Service” is not available as an optional service, press the “Change” button and apply to use the service.
   • You can also apply for service at a SoftBank shop or dealer in Japan.
   • The service can also be set at your travel destination.

2. STEP 02

   Apply for “Worry-free
   Global Roaming Flat Rate”

   Please apply from the dedicated web site.

   • You can also apply through the SMS message that is sent from SoftBank when you arrive at your overseas destination.

   • Applications for the service cannot be made between 11:25 pm and 0:30 am (Japan time) on the next day.
   • From 0:30 am to 7:00 am (Japan time), it may take about 30 minutes to complete an application.
   • Applications may not be possible at times due to system maintenance.
   • The maximum flat-rate fee for using “Global Roaming Data Flat-rate” on the day that you apply is ¥980. However, the maximum flat-rate fee of ¥980 is limited to once per billing month. For usage in areas not covered by the “Global Roaming Data Flat-rate” plan, applicable fees not covered within the flat-rate service are incurred.
   • Application may not be possible from 11:25 pm to 6:00 am (Japan time) due to maintenance. When maintenance occurs, a notice will be posted at the top of the following page.

   Check the SMS message
   from SoftBank

   You will receive a SMS message from SoftBank when you arrive at your overseas destination.

2. STEP 05

   Access the dedicated site
   from the SMS message
   and start using the service

   Select your plan on the dedicated site.

   • There is no fee for connecting.
   • A fee will be incurred when the service is started.
   • You can start using the service when you are connected to an overseas mobile network.
   • If you move to a country/region that is classified in another group after using the service, data service will be stopped.
   • If you cancel the service after you start using it, the plan you are using will end at the same time as the cancellation.

Supported devices

It can be used with any device that supports the Global Roaming Service.

Users who meet all of the following conditions are eligible to use the service.

• Has a subscription for the Global Roaming Service
• Has applied for “Worry-free Global Roaming Flat Rate”
• Has a subscription for the Internet Usage Charge, 4G Data Basic Fee, or one of the following plan plans.

Important Information

• If a user starts using the plan and cancels their SoftBank line on the same day (Japan Standard Time), the flat-rate fee for the plan will not apply, and the flat-rate fee for “Global Roaming Packet Flat Rate” or data usage fees not subject to the flat-rate fee will apply.
• Once you start using the plan, it cannot be canceled.
• ”Global Roaming Packet Flat Rate” is not applied when “Worry-free Global Roaming Flat Rate” is applied.
• Due to circumstances of overseas carriers, the country you are traveling to may differ from the country displayed on the web site screen.
• In some cases, the service may be provided with priority connection to an overseas telecommunications carrier designated by SoftBank, and there may be some cases in which customers cannot select certain overseas telecommunications carriers as their connection destinations.
• You can apply to cancel this service at My SoftBank. The service will be canceled from 0:00 am (Japan time) the next day. The remaining time in the plan will become unavailable at the same time. After the cancellation, the flat-rate and data fees not subject to the flat-rate of “Global Roaming Packet Flat Rate” will apply.
• If any of the following applies to a SoftBank line to which “Worry-free Global Roaming Flat Rate” is applied, the application will end on the day specified below (Japan time).
• If any of the following applies to a SoftBank line to which “Worry-free Global Roaming Flat Rate” is applied, the application will end on the day specified below (Japan time).
  (1) If the Global Roaming Service is no longer applied The date when the Global Roaming Service ends
  (2) If you apply for a change to a price plan that is not covered by the plan The date when the change request was submitted
  (3) If the service is canceled due to a SoftBank line being canceled or another reason The day before the line was canceled
