Sprint's network shutdown
Sprint has shut down its networks since June 30th, 2022.
Even after the shutdown, the America Flat-rate option is continuously provided on T-Mobile USA, AT&T or etc. networks. In order to ensure the stable use of the option, customers will need to update their USIM card by following steps below.
Customers who need to update their USIM card
Customers using iPhone 6 or a later version of iPhone
What may happen if you do not update your USIM card
Customers using: iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone SE (1st geneartion), iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone X
In Sprint's LTE area, your phone may try to connect to a Sprint network and may temporarily display as having no service.
After a while, your phone will be automatically connected to a carrier besides Sprint.
Customers using: iPhone XR, iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, iPhone 11 Pro Max, iPhone SE (2nd generation)
Your phone will be connected to a Sprint network when you are within the Sprint LTE coverage area.
Data usage is possible, but voice calls will not be possible.
How to update your USIM card
After updating your USIM card, you will not be able to use the Sprint network. The America Flat-rate option will continue to be available using carriers such as T-Mobile USA and AT&T.
Please perform following three operations:
1. Update your USIM card
By performing the following, your USIM card will be updated.
After updating, you will not be able to use the Sprint network.
Tap "Settings" > "Cellular" > "SIM Applications" > "Update".
Confirm that "SIM settings are up to date." is displayed.

2. Check settings
Tap "Settings" > "Cellular" > "Cellular Data Options" > "Data Roaming" and turn on "Data Roaming".

3. Restart your iPhone
Tap "Settings" > "General" > "Shut Down". The power will turn off.
Press and hold the side or top button on your iPhone. The power will turn on.
