For the second year in a row, SoftBank Corp. (TOKYO: 9434) was selected for inclusion in the top 10% of companies worldwide in S&P Global’s Sustainability Yearbook 2025 rankings. On April 8, 2025, the research and rating firm hosted an award ceremony in Tokyo where SoftBank received a trophy and certificate to commemorate its top 10% ranking and inclusion as a Yearbook Member.
About The S&P Global Sustainability Yearbook 2025
The Sustainability Yearbook distinguishes companies within their industries that have each demonstrated strengths in corporate sustainability. Yearbook members and distinction levels are selected based on Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA) Scores, which is the S&P Global ESG Score without the inclusion of any modeling approaches. Over 7,690 companies from 62 industries were considered for inclusion in The Sustainability Yearbook 2025. Of them, only 780 companies were selected as Yearbook Members.
Compared to last year, SoftBank scored even higher in the "Business Ethics" and "Human Rights" categories.
Masato Ikeda, SoftBank’s CSR Division Head and ESG Planning & Management Office Senior Director, commented, “We’re very pleased to be among the top 10% worldwide in ‘The Sustainability Yearbook - 2025 Rankings.’ This result reflects the recognition of SoftBank’s commitment to ESG management across all our business activities and the daily efforts of our employees. By further leveraging AI and other technologies, I’m confident we can help solve even more social issues going forward.”
