On December 13, 2024, SoftBank Corp. (TOKYO: 9434) announced it is planning to open “EBC STATION Ai” – an experiential facility that showcases new technology solutions – in January 2025. EBC STATION Ai will be operated by SoftBank and located inside “STATION Ai,” a Nagoya-based startup support hub operated by STATION Ai Corporation, a SoftBank subsidiary.
EBC STATION Ai will be a facility where customers – primarily those in the Tokai region that comprises Japan’s centrally located Aichi, Shizuoka and Gifu prefectures – can experience demonstrations of the latest technology solutions. It will feature over 50 exhibits, including the latest technologies related to AI, smart buildings, and the metaverse from SoftBank, as well as solutions from group and partner companies. EBC STATION Ai will also showcase innovations from startups affiliated with STATION Ai and solutions that utilize manufacturing technologies developed by companies based in the Tokai region.
In June 2021, SoftBank opened the "Executive Briefing Center (EBC)" at its Tokyo headquarters with the aim of accelerating digital transformation (DX) initiatives for enterprises. Since then, SoftBank has introduced various leading-edge solutions to over 2,000 corporate clients. Utilizing this know-how, SoftBank representatives at EBC STATION Ai will brief visitors on the latest solutions and use cases based on their needs.
To foster collaboration between visitors and startups affiliated with STATION Ai, SoftBank will utilize EBC STATION Ai as a venue to hold orientations on the latest technologies and solutions, organize events for business pitches, and arrange sessions aimed at generating new business ideas. Networking events like these will provide a wide range of opportunities for visitors and startup employees to interact.
Through EBC STATION Ai, SoftBank and STATION Ai will aim to nurture open innovation, foster startups and promote development in the Tokai region.
