For the third year in a row, SoftBank Corp. (TOKYO: 9434) was awarded a gold rating--the highest ranking-- in the ‘PRIDE Index’ for its LGBT-friendly workplace policies. A conference was held on October 11, 2019 at Tokyo Midtown Hibiya to announce companies included in the index.
The PRIDE Index is an evaluation method drawn up by ‘work with Pride,’ a Japan-based organization that promotes and raises awareness for LGBT-friendly workplaces. SoftBank's initiatives were highly evaluated in all of the PRIDE Index's categories.
At the award ceremony, Keiichi Ishida, Labor and Welfare Planning Section Manager at SoftBank's HR Planning Department, said, “We're working to create an environment where people of diverse backgrounds and orientations can take on challenges and succeed. By maximizing productivity at both the individual and organizational level, we aim to be a company continues to grow.”
