ESG Index
DJSI World Index
SoftBank corp. has been selected for the second consecutive year as a component of the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) World Index (DJSI World), one of the leading global ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) indices.
The DJSI's constituents are the top 3,500 companies in the world by market capitalization. Each year, the top 10% of each industry group is selected as “DJSI World”. SoftBank achieved the highest score among the companies selected from Japan. And was also the only Japan-based company selected for the “Telecommunication Services” industry group.
DJSI Asia/Pacific Index
SoftBank Corp. have been selected for the second consecutive year as a component of the 2022 Dow Jones Sustainability Asia Pacific Index (DJSI Asia/Pacific Index), which comprises companies from the Asia-Pacific region.
Furthermore, the company was selected as one of the “Top 10%” in the world in “S&P The Sustainability Yearbook 2024 Rankings” for its constituent stocks.
MSCI Japan ESG Select Leaders Index
SoftBank Corp. has been selected for inclusion in the MSCI Japan ESG Select Leaders Index, a leading environmental, social and governance (ESG) index that has been adopted as a benchmark for passive ESG investing by Japan's Government Pension Investment Fund (GPIF), one of the world's largest public pension funds.
Additionally, we achieved the highest rating of ‘AAA’ for the second consecutive year.

In 2024, the Company achieved the highest score among Japanese companies, receiving a score of 4.9 out of 5.

SOMPO Sustainability Index
SoftBank Corp. has been selected for inclusion in the SOMPO Sustainability Index operated by SOMPO Asset Management Co., Ltd. This index is used for “SOMPO Sustainable Management,” an initiative for investing broadly in companies that SOMPO Asset Management Co., Ltd. evaluates highly in terms of environmental, social and governance (ESG) performance.

and the Grand Prize in the 5th NIKKEI SDGs Management Awards
In the “NIKKEI SDGs Management Survey 2023,” which comprehensively evaluates corporate “SDGs management” in four areas: “SDGs strategy and economic value,” “social value,” “environmental value,” and “governance,” the company has achieved five stars rating for the third consecutive year.
The company received the Grand Prize, the highest evaluation, at the 5th NIKKEI SDGs Management Awards.
In addition to the corporate governance structure, which involves establishing a sustainability promotion system and incorporating a perspective on addressing social issues in the assessment of new investments, the company's initiatives aimed at solving social challenges, such as medical DX for ensuring healthcare continuity in depopulated areas, and environmental efforts, such as the utilization of renewable energy, have received high praise. Among all respondent companies, we are the sole entity to achieve a deviation score of 70 or higher in the three areas of “SDGs Strategic and Economic Value,” “Social Value,” and “Environmental Value.”
It also received the Social Value Award in 2021, one of the three category awards of the NIKKEI SDGs Management Awards.

S&P/JPX Carbon Efficient Index
SoftBank Corp. has been selected for inclusion in the S&P/JPX Carbon Efficient Index, an index that determines the weighting of constituent stocks based on the disclosure of environmental information and the level of carbon efficiency (carbon emissions per unit of revenue).
CDP 2023 Climate Change
In recognition of its strategy and response to climate change, SoftBank Corp. received an “A-” rating from the CDP (headquarters: London, UK), an international non-profit organization that conducts environmental assessments of major corporations and cities around the world.
In addition, the company was selected for the “LeaderBoard,” the highest rating, in recognition of its efforts to combat climate change throughout its supply chain, for the third consecutive year.
Verified by Science Based Targets Initiative
Short-term goal set under “Carbon Neutral 2030” to reduce greenhouse gas emissions to zero by 2030 and long-term goal set at net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050 have been recognized as Science Based Targets (SBT) by the international climate change initiative, the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), based on scientific evidence.
Joined the international initiative RE100
We have joined RE100, an international collaborative initiative where influential companies worldwide commit to sourcing 100% of the electricity used in their business operations from renewable energy.
Keidanren Initiative for Biodiversity
In addition to participating in the Keidanren Council on Nature Conservation, we endorse the aims of the “Declaration of Biodiversity by Keidanren” formulated by Keidanren, and in June 2023, we have endorsed the “Initiative based on the Declaration of Biodiversity by Keidanren”.
TNFD Forum
We have endorsed the principles of the Task Force on Nature-related Financial Disclosures(TNFD), and have joined the TNFD Forum in May 2022. We will actively promote information disclosure based on the disclosure framework.
Decarbonization Management Ranking, GX (Green Transformation) 500
In the 2023 edition of the “Decarbonization Management Ranking GX500” by The Nikkei, which ranks the decarbonization efforts of the top 500 leading companies, our company has achieved the highest rating.
Social
Digital Transformation Stock 2024
In recognition of its efforts to solve social issues through new businesses, SoftBank Corp. was the only company in the information and telecommunications industry to be selected for four consecutive years as a Digital Transformation Stock 2024 by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, and the Tokyo Stock Exchange and Information-technology Promotion Agency, Japan.
Eco-First Company
SoftBank Corp. has been certified as an Eco-First Company by the Minister of the Environment for declaring that it will engage in “advanced, unique and industry-leading business activities” in the field of the environment, including measures against global warming, waste and recycling.
