DJSI Asia Pacific Index
SoftBank Corp. has been selected for the first time as a component of “DJSI Asia Pacific Index”, which consists of companies in the Asia-Pacific region of “Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI)”, the world's leading ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) investment index.
In addition, SoftBank Corp. was selected as “The Sustainability Yearbook Member,” which is positioned as a superior global ESG company, in the Sustainability Awards announced in “The Sustainability Yearbook 2022,” which covers its constituent stocks. SoftBank Corp. y was also selected as an “Industry Mover,” a special award that recognizes outstanding companies that deserve attention.
MSCI Japan ESG Select Leaders Index
SoftBank Corp. has been selected as a constituent stock of the MSCI Japan ESG Select Leaders Index, a major ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) investment index used as a passive investment benchmark by the Government Pension Investment Fund (GPIF), the world's largest public pension fund.

The FTSE Blossom Japan Sector Relative Index, is designed to measure the performance of Japanese companies that demonstrate strong Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) performance relative to other companies in their respective sectors, has selected SoftBank Corp. as a component of its index starting in 2022.
SOMPO Sustainability Index
Softbank Corp. has been selected as a constituent stock of the “SOMPO Sustainability Index” managed by SOMPO Asset Management Co. The index is used for the company's “SOMPO Sustainable Management,” which invests in a wide range of companies with high ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) ratings.
EcoVadis Silver Rating
SoftBank has received a “Silver” rating in the 2020 Sustainability Survey held by EcoVadis.
The results of our efforts were highly evaluated in four areas: environment, labor and human rights, ethics, and sustainable material procurement.
Nikkei “SDGs Management” Survey 2021
In the “Nikkei SDGs Management Survey” conducted by nikkei Inc., SoftBank Corp. received the highest rating of 5 stars rating. This survey targets in a total of four fields: “SDGs Strategy / Economic Value”, “Social Value”, “Environmental Value” and “Governance”.
SoftBank Corp. received the “Social Value Award,” one of the three categories established in the Nikkei SDGs Management Survey.
This award is given to companies that are recognized as making the most outstanding contributions to socially important values through their corporate activities, such as addressing social issues and diversity initiatives. The award was given in recognition of such initiatives as “Respect for human rights, including in the supply chain,” “Diversity within the company,” and “Support for students and schools at Corona Disaster”.
S&P/JPX Carbon Efficient Index
SoftBank Corp. has been selected as a constituent stock of the S&P/JPX Carbon Efficient Index, an index that determines the weighting of constituent stocks by focusing on the disclosure of environmental information and the level of carbon efficiency (carbon emissions per unit of sales).
CDP 2021 Climate Change
In fiscal 2021, SoftBank received a score of A- in the climate change category from CDP (headquarters: London, U.K.), which is a nonprofit organization carrying out environmental assessment of major companies and cities worldwide.
Also the Supplier Engagement Assessment, SoftBank Corp. was selected to the leaderboard, a reconsideration rating, for its efforts to combat climate change throughout the supply chain.
An International Climate Change Initiative By SBT
SoftBank Corp. announced that the goals detailed in its Carbon Neutral 2030 Declaration to achieve virtually zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 were certified by the Science Based Targets initiative (“SBTi”), a body enabling businesses to set ambitious emissions reduction targets.
DX Brand 2021
SoftBank Corp. has been selected as a “Digital Transformation Brand 2021” by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) and the Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE), as the only company in the information and telecommunications industry, in recognition of its efforts to solve social issues through new businesses.
We have been certified as a company that engages in “advanced, unique and industry-leading business activities” in the field of the environment, including measures against global warming, waste and recycling.
