Basic approach

As a company which is leading the information revolution, we utilize our strengths in technology to promote activities which contribute to society.
We believe that corporate contributions to society, including local communities, are not only linked to sustainable corporate growth, as stipulated in the 33 issues of the GRI Standards, but are also a necessary element in raising employee awareness, including employee motivation and leadership development.

Based on the fundamental sustainability policy, the themes of focus of our social contribution activities to create a sustainable society are the “promotion of an information society,” “next-generation education,” “support for a diverse society,” “environmental and resource measures,” and “disaster countermeasures and reconstruction support.” These focus themes are linked to our corporate philosophy of “Information Revolution - Happiness for everyone” and our growth strategy of “Beyond Carrier,” and we expect that the knowledge gained from our social contribution activities and connections with society will lead to further improvement of our business activities.

We also believe that social contribution activities play a role in enhancing our corporate and social value by meeting the current and future expectations of various stakeholders as well as our business and service customers.
While engaging in repeated discussions with stakeholders including everyone in the local community, we sincerely undertake the resolution of social issues and aim to contribute to the realization of a sustainable society through our “Beyond Carrier” growth strategy and create a society in which anyone can enjoy a convenient and comfortable lifestyle.

We have set KPIs for each of the themes of focus for social contribution and are promoting social contribution activities by working toward the achievement of our goals.

We are actively engaged in disaster preparedness and minimization measures, using AI and ICT to rapidly consolidate and communicate disaster information.

We restore communications equipment as quickly as possible after a disaster occurs, and provide rapid support with initial aid while ensuring the readiness of evacuation centers, etc.

Coral Conservation Activities

As part of our efforts to preserve the marine environment, we engage in activities to protect and sustain coral reefs, which play a crucial role in the ecosystem by providing habitats for marine life, ensuring their continuity for future generations.

Tree Planting Activities by Employees

We hold the “Summer Vacation Parent-Child Nature School” for our employees, where activities include planting trees on former golf course land to restore it to its original forested state. Additionally, we engage in forest conservation activities that cover areas larger than the base stations we have established in nature conservation areas and other areas.

Mobile Phone Recycling Initiatives

Regardless of the mobile phone carrier or manufacturer, we collect and recycle used mobile phones, battery packs, chargers, and related items.

Recycling Awareness Activities

In collaboration with local governments and other organizations, we hold environmental classes called “Risaikuru” to teach the importance of mobile phone recycling.

Promotion structure

The Company's CSR Division formulates basic policies and themes of focus for CSR activities for the company and the entire group, which are shared throughout the group.
Each of our group companies has established its own CSR department or person in charge of CSR and has built a system to promote its own activities in accordance with the business and characteristics of each company.
In order to obtain the results of the entire group's activities and the activity plan for the relevant fiscal year, information is exchanged on a regular basis by holding CSR group liaison meetings. In addition, the results and status of our CSR activities are shared with and reported back to management and we realize effective social contribution based on the opinion of management.
