JAPAN TELECOM CO., LTD. (Head Office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Hideki Kurashige; hereinafter "JAPAN TELECOM") and Oracle Corporation Japan (Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President and Chief Executive Officer: Masaaki Shintaku; hereinafter "Oracle Japan") launched a full-fledged commercial service on February 9, 2006, of JAPAN TELECOM's ICT platform service,"ULTINA On Demand Platform" KeyPlat. The service employs Oracle Japan's middleware products-Oracle Fusion Middleware and Oracle Database.
Utilizing JAPAN TELECOM's telecommunications infrastructure and Oracle Japan's grid computing environment, comprising Oracle Application Server 10g Release 2 and Oracle Database 10g Release 2, "ULTINA On Demand Platform" KeyPlat is designed to provide customers with an ICT platform optimal for their businesses. By using this service, customers can utilize an ICT platform that is steady, expansive, and secure, at monthly charges, which are levied according to the amount of actual use, similar to paying monthly utilities fees. In addition, there is little waiting time for customers to begin receiving the service after the service contract is concluded.
Oracle On Demand system will be employed to operate and control Oracle products used in the "ULTINA On Demand Platform" KeyPlat. Professional engineers at Oracle Japan will supervise the operation of these products on-line around the clock-24 hours-a-day, 365 days-a-year. Meanwhile, JAPAN TELECOM will take charge of the overall system operation-supervision, operation, and control-from its network operation center. "ULTINA On Demand Platform" KeyPlat enables customers' outsourcing of ICT platform-related operations with security, making it possible for customers to concentrate their management resources on their core business operations.
This service has been adopted by the system for PROGRES event support ASP, which will be newly offered by BELLSYSTEM 24, INC. (Head Office: Toshima-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Yukio Sonoyama; hereinafter "BELLSYSTEM 24"). The PROGRES event support ASP system is designed to operate event portal sites, event campaigns by secretariats and outbound promotion in an integrated manner. The system will be provided for a certain period on a rental basis (ASP service). "ULTINA On Demand Platform" KeyPlat has been adopted because its pay-as-you-go charge plan matched BELLSYSTEM 24’s desire to diffuse risks associated with initial business investments and its information security system was also highly evaluated.
PROGRES event support ASP is a business-to-business (B-to-B) event promotion package service of BELLSYSTEM 24 which is offered on the PROGRES system, a software system that combines Oracle Japan’s OCD (Oracle Contact Database) Web marketing system and CMS (Call Management System) owned by BELLSYSTEM 24. As BELLSYSTEM 24 takes charge of the entire event process, corporate customers can reduce the heavy load stemming from a large number of engineering processes-which has become a significant burden each time an event has unfolded-just by checking the progress of business operations on a regular basis.
Moreover, customer data being collected through events such as grading and measurement of event effects can be utilized effectively. The event promotion package service is a service that has fully utilized CRM knowledge of BELLSYSTEM 24, the No.1 company within the CRM industry.
JAPAN TELECOM sees the ICT platform service, which can realize a variety of functions through network integration, as its key service. JAPAN TELECOM will step up the development and supply of such services in cooperation with major vendors and aims to become an ICT solution company, helping corporate customers solve problems related to business operations in an optimal manner.
