SOFTBANK BB Provides “Global Software Service” - Software license acquisition and management support service for subsidiaries of Japanese companies in North America, Europe, Australia and other regions -

(Head office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; representative: Masayoshi Son, hereinafter “SBB”), and ASAP Software, Inc.（Head office: Illinois, USA; representative: Paul Jarvie, hereinafter “ASAP Software” ), announced today their partnership to provide services for the acquisition and management of software licenses, to overseas subsidiaries of Japanese companies in North America, Europe and Australia.
This service will be positioned as a “Global Software Service”, and rolled out in North America, Europe and Australia and other regions of the world.
Due to the recent globalization of Japanese companies, the needs for software license procurement and support in overseas subsidiaries are increasing. Requirements to comply with software usage standards exist in the overseas business establishments, as in Japan.
Through the partnership between ASAP Software, a leading provider of IT solutions in North America and Europe, and SBB, one of the largest distributors in the IT industry in Japan, SBB will provide software acquisition and management support services to Japanese companies with an overseas presence. SBB will procure software licenses via its sales partners in Japan, and provide software acquisition and management support services to customers’ local operations, and affiliates in North America, Europe and Australia, through ASAP Software.
To customers under global umbrella agreement with software vendors in Japan, services provided to the overseas subsidiaries will be delivered according to the contract’s conditions, through ASAP Software. For instance, customers who have purchased software licenses under a volume discount contract will be able to buy these at the same price in the overseas locations.
Acquisition and management of software licenses by the overseas subsidiaries will be convenient, interaction between the customer and ASAP Software will be supported by full-time SBB staff.
