SoftBank to Begin Accepting Applications for Prepaid Service
Contract Changes (2G to 3G Migration)
TOKYO, January 28, 2009 --- SOFTBANK MOBILE Corp. (hereafter ‘SBM’) announced that from February 2, 2009 it will begin accepting applications for Prepaid Service contract changes (upgrade handsets) from 2G to 3G at SoftBank shops nationwide.
Contract change (upgrade handset) allows customers to use the same mobile phone number and mail address continuously. Also the charge for contract administration (1,995 yen including tax) will be exempted as a measure associated with the discontinuation of 2G service on March 31, 2010.
SBM has already started accepting applications for contract changes from 2G prepaid service to 3G postpaid service.
